Beth Gottlieb is the Percussion Artist-in-Residence, in charge of all percussion activities at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. In addition to intensive private percussion lessons, students participate in four highly acclaimed percussion ensembles: The Rollins Percussion Ensemble, The Rollins Chamber Percussion Ensemble and the Rollins Mallet Ensembles.

Now in their tenth year, the critically acclaimed Rollins College Percussion and Mallet Ensembles feature the college's top percussionists performing on a vast variety of percussion instruments. These award winning ensembles perform challenging works by the world's top composers in all styles of music including, Classical, Baroque, Jazz, Latin, World, Contemporary and Pop. The Rollins Percussion groups often perform at a wide variety of venues around Florida. Recent performances have included; the Winter Park Bach Festival, the Winter Park Arts Festival, the Percussive Arts Society Days of Percussion, Disney, and a special sold-out television performance at the King Center in Melbourne. The Ensembles also perform for many non-profit and organizations and charitable events. The groups are under the direction of Beth Gottlieb.


On Nov, 13, the Percussion Ensemble presented their Winter concert, which featured Tusk! by David Jarvis, Sacrificial Rite by David Gillingham, Odd-O-Man by Steve Pemberton, Please Pass the Beats by Kristen Shiner, Mountain Dance Dave Grusin, arr. by Chris Sharp, The Uruk-Hai by Joel Morris, and the final movement of Symphony #4 by Tchaikovsky. 

The Rollins College Mallet Ensemble performed their fall 2003 concert 11/18/03 with: Minuet, Op. 13 by Boccherini, Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saens, Jolly Cabellero by Frosini, arr. by Cahn, Italian Sailor's Song by Schumann, Concerto Grosso in A Minor for two vioins, Op. 3, No. 8 by Antonio Vivaldi, and Ritual Fire Dance by Manuel de Falla.

An upcoming special event of note, the Rollins Percussion ensemble will be performing David Gillingham's Concerto for Piano and Percussion ensemble at the Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion, on April 3, 2004. It will feature pianist Alan Morrison, and the composer will be in attendance.

In addition to her duties at Rollins College, Beth also teaches 45 high school and middle school students at the St. Luke's School of the Arts on Monday's. The School of the Arts recital on 11/17/03 included all five class performing. Some of the works included, Un Misterio, arr. by William Cahn, Espani Cani by Marquina, The Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa, arr by Werdesheim, Marimba by Lara and Amparito Roca by Texidor.
